»A Dictator’s Home – Inside Enver Hoxha’s Vila 31« – Eastern Perspectives is an evening of talk and Q&A at the Ulme35. Eastern Perspectives hosts the event, welcoming the architect and photographer Philipp Funke, with moderation by Philipp Filipovski. In his photo book, Funke documents the former residence of the Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha in Tirana, photographed shortly before the building was renovated and given a new use. The pictures reveal the private world of Hoxha and his family, kept secret for decades in the sealed-off government district of Blloku, telling of isolation, power and everyday life; Funke also speaks about gaining difficult access to the villa and the histories still felt in its rooms. Admission is free.
