This is the opening concert of a four-day Jazzfest Berlin presentation at the A-Trane, the German premiere of Swedish saxophonist Elin Forkelid's project Plays For Trane. Marking John Coltrane's 100th birthday, her quintet performs his compositions, including pieces such as Naima and Peace on Earth, while carrying his legacy forward. Alongside Forkelid play David Stackenäs (guitar), Mattias Ståhl (vibraphone), Vilhelm Bromander (double bass) and Jon Fält (drums), all talents of Stockholm's current jazz scene. Forkelid already appeared at Jazzfest Berlin 2024 in bands led by Anna Högberg and Vilhelm Bromander.
