As part of Jazzfest Berlin 2026, the transatlantic quartet ¡ Ya voy ! performs its program «Miraflores» at the A-Trane, a German premiere. The group consists of singer Alejandra Charry, percussionist and marimba player Moises Zamora Mezù, saxophonist Sakina Abdou and double bassist Thibault Cellier. Charry and Zamora Mezù both grew up in the Colombian village of El Cabuyal on the Pacific coast, while Abdou and Cellier belong to French improvised music. The band fuses folkloric musical traditions of the Colombian Pacific coast, where the marimba is a central instrument, with adventurous improvisational approaches.
