The opening of the exhibition "Giacometti. Figur. Raum" presents sculptures, paintings and works on paper by Alberto Giacometti, with four bronzes at its centre. It is curated by Brigitte Hausmann for the Department of Culture of Steglitz-Zehlendorf and shows works from the Klewan collection of the former gallerist Helmut Klewan. The opening features welcoming addresses and an art-historical introduction, after which Helmut Klewan will read from his autobiographical notes and sing. The exhibition explores Giacometti's engagement with figure and space, from standing women and walking men to street scenes in Paris.
