A book presentation and discussion on the subject of the political strike. The book argues that without political strike there is no democracy and seeks to bring the maligned tool of industrial action back into public awareness, offering arguments and legal tips as a practical guide. Joining are lawyer Benedikt Hopmann, Duygu Kaya of GEW, who as a rider helped organise the Gorillas strike, and Günter Watermeier of ver.di, a historian focused on the 1918/19 revolution. The event also looks at the history of political strikes in Germany, from the November Revolution of 1918 to their decline in significance after 1945.
