In November, the Bartleby reading circle meets at the Bartleby & Co. bookshop on Boppstraße 2. The Spanish-language bookshop invites its readers to read a book together and then discuss it in person. The chosen title is Malina by Ingeborg Bachmann, an astonishing portrait of a writer trying to tell her own story in a world dominated by men. The novel follows a woman in postwar Vienna between her inaccessible lover Ivan and her reserved flatmate Malina, a feminist psychological masterpiece of European literature.
