The Schöneberg Museum shows the documentary film “Das leere Grab”, followed by a conversation. The German-Tanzanian film by Agnes Lisa Wegner and Cece Mlay tells, from a personal perspective, of the consequences of German colonial rule for Tanzanian families and communities. At its centre is the return of human remains from the colonial era, addressing memory, justice and demands that remain unfulfilled to this day. Afterwards, one of the protagonists, Mnyaka Sururu Mboro, talks about the presence of German colonial history in Berlin.
