"Die Holländerinnen" is a theatre production at Deutsches Theater Berlin. It is based on Dorothee Elmiger's novel, which won the German Book Prize in 2025, and is directed by Jan Friedrich. A motley group travels into the rainforest of Central America to trace the mysterious disappearance of two young female tourists and turn it into a theatre piece. A writer weaves further stories into her account of the experiences, showing that unambiguous truth does not exist in this world.
