DIE MITTELMEER-MONOLOGE are an evening of documentary theatre created by author and director Michael Ruf from interviews that are only condensed, never altered. The piece tells of people who risk the crossing of the Mediterranean hoping to find safety in Europe, and of authorities who try to prevent this. Activists appear as well, who push coastguards to rescue people in distress or learn how to keep them from drowning. The performances are followed by audience discussions with activists.
