The Nile Hilton Incident is a paranoia thriller set against the demonstrations on Tahrir Square in Cairo in 2011. After a singer is murdered in the Nile Hilton Hotel, Inspector Noredin is to bury the case, in which prominent figures may be involved, as quickly as possible. The Swedish director with Egyptian roots, Tarik Saleh, paints a picture of a society in which the state, the police and organised crime are as tightly and corruptly intertwined as the alleys of Cairo are winding. Noredin keeps investigating all the same, where the question is not who the culprit is but how best to profit.
