D*RTY DANCING is a three-hour dance workshop where participants together explore a free, sensual way of dancing, inspired by 1960s rhythm & blues and soul, ending in playful partnering for those who wish. Behind the event is Cecile, a queer dancer with forty years of experience in styles from ballet and tango to butoh and burlesque. It is offered as a drop-in session with no registration needed, open to every body and gender, alone or with a partner. Consent, clear communication and gentle rejection are practised, and no one is forced to touch or be touched in any uncomfortable way.
