A lecture titled «Eine Beleidigung der Weltrevolution» on the CIAM protest against the decision in the 1932 Palace of the Soviets competition, moderated by Christian Hufen. The speaker is Thomas Flierl, who examines the background of the competition for the Palace of the Soviets in Moscow: in spring 1932, Le Corbusier and the CIAM delegates meeting in Barcelona were outraged by the results of the second competition round. The CIAM leadership sent protest letters to Stalin and other responsible figures, calling the planned 4th CIAM Congress in Moscow into question. The talk also covers the power constellations in Moscow and the role of Lunačarskij, who received Le Corbusier in Geneva.
