A book premiere for “Einhörner”, an essay by Annekathrin Kohout about the rise and crisis of social media. The cultural scholar traces in it how the mythical creature of the unicorn became an icon of the digital present and a projection screen for culturally conservative fears. From queer free spaces and start-up culture to the right-wing “vibe shift”, the story of the last 20 years of the internet can be followed through it. The event is presented by silent green and Verlag Klaus Wagenbach.
