Encounters in the Milky Way is a dome show at the Zeiss-Großplanetarium that includes a 30-minute live part in English. It was developed by the American Museum of Natural History with major support from NASA and takes audiences on a time-traveling journey through the cosmic movements that shape our galactic neighborhood. Along the way it shows the paths of stars, comets, interstellar debris and stunning gas and dust clouds, plus the first-ever visualization of the ongoing merger of our galaxy with a smaller satellite galaxy. It draws on data from the European Space Agency's Gaia mission, which mapped nearly 2 billion stars, and is narrated by Pedro Pascal.
