„Esther“ is a documentary about the singer Esther Ofarim, one of Israel's best-known vocalists. Director Shaked Goren approaches her through phone conversations between Tel Aviv and Germany. Combining personal memories with rare archival material, the film creates a multifaceted portrait of a woman celebrated across Europe who increasingly became an outsider in her native Israel. In 2026 it was screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival and Docaviv, winning awards for Best Director and Best Editing.
