"Europe Needs a Plan: Science & Arts in the AI Age" is an English-language talk and panel with free entry in the Miriam Makeba Auditorium at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the Festival Centre of Berlin Science Week. Taking part are Francesca Bria, José Luis de Vicente, Tommaso Calarco, Bettina Kames and Ólafur Elíasson. It asks whether Europe can build its future on rented intelligence, addressing sovereignty, AI infrastructure, and the role of the arts, as Europe imports most of the digital technology its research and democracy run on. It discusses whether Europe's emerging AI Factories and quantum hubs could carry the Bauhaus idea forward as an Archipelago of Ateliers, spaces where artists and scientists shape technology together in the public interest.
