"Freiheit ohne Angst" is a conversation with the Iranian-American journalist and civil rights activist Masih Alinejad, known among other things for her initiative My Stealthy Freedom against the forced headscarf in Iran. The event is hosted by the Politisches Bildungsforum Berlin of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung as part of the Berlin Freedom Week. It deals with individual freedom under authoritarian regimes, resistance to political oppression and the special role of women as agents of democratic change. Alinejad, founder of the World Liberty Congress and recipient of the 2026 Paulskirchen Prize for Democracy, offers personal insights into her activism and discusses the responsibility of democratic societies in dealing with authoritarian regimes.
