A guided tour of the historic print workshop at the FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum. The workshop's story began in 1928 in the middle of Kreuzberg, where Otto Schneider and later his son Gerd set jobs by hand for the lively business life of the neighbourhood. Prof. i.R. Dr. Anne König, a bookbinder-trained printer and retired professor of business administration for the printing industry and publishing, offers insights into the workshop's history and the traditional craft of hand typesetting and letterpress printing, which produced commercial job printing such as business cards and wedding announcements into the 1980s. Visitors can take a composing stick in hand and set a short line of type themselves.
