"Gerdas Schweigen" is a documentary by Britta Wauer. In 1967, Gerda, a Jewish survivor of the Nazi era and a former neighbour, visits the Elstermann family in East Berlin. Seven-year-old Knut asks about her child, but Gerda remains silent. Decades later, Knut Elstermann sets out to find answers, tracing Gerda's life, memory and living on after persecution.
