Harald Hauswald presents his photo book „KaDeO – Kaufhaus des Ostens | Gesichter eingefangen“ and signs copies afterwards. In the early 1980s, the photographer captured the decaying historic passage department store between Oranienburger Straße and Friedrichstraße, setting these images against contemporary portraits of people from East Berlin. At the presentation he offers insights into his archive and talks about the stories behind the pictures. The conversation takes place in the part of the building saved by Kunsthaus Tacheles, which today houses Fotografiska Berlin.
