»Insekten - Helden im Verborgenen« is a documentary that takes viewers in impressive images into the microcosm of insects. It was directed by Nepomuk Pfaff and is narrated by screen icon Katharina Thalbach. The film shows how insects conquered the sky more than 300 million years ago, created nutrient cycles and food chains, and shaped the history of the Earth. It also asks how human intervention in nature and agriculture destroy insect habitats – and whether a switch to organic farming can help.
