"Kalter Hund" is a black-humour tragicomedy about power, money and the absurdities of bourgeois facades. It was directed by Pauline Roenneberg, whose equally radical and personal feature debut celebrated its world premiere at the Filmfest München. Marianne finds her husband Herrmann dead in his bed on the morning of his 100th birthday, having escaped the celebration through an overdose of pills. The family stages an absurd piece of shabby theatre to maintain the facade of the model family, while a bitter fight breaks out over the missing will and the inheritance.
