A staged reading with actress Katharina Thalbach at the Berliner Ensemble. She reads and performs the novel "Gilgi - Eine von uns" by author Irmgard Keun. At its center is Gilgi, a headstrong young woman who, between social patronization and economic and emotional dependencies, finds her own path to independence. Thalbach jumps between different roles and changes voices, following her successful reading of "Käsebier erobert den Kurfürstendamm".
