La Sur Real Colombia: La Salsa Vive is a documentary about the history of salsa. The film takes audiences on a cinematic journey through salsa's roots in its birthplace, New York, and its evolution in Cali, Colombia, where the genre has become a collective passion that defines the city's identity. Featuring legends such as Rubén Blades, Henry Fiol, Alfredo Linares, Ángel Lebrón and Grupo Niche, Juan Carvajal's film explores how this rhythm has transformed lives. In this way, salsa has become a source of refuge and inspiration for generations.
