A reading from the book Move! about the many forms of movement in the animal kingdom. Biologist and writer Sophia Kimmig of the IGB shows why movement is essential for the survival of species and functioning ecosystems and how environmental change and human intervention interrupt natural movement corridors. Afterwards, IGB researcher Jörn Geßner talks about migrating aquatic animals and ecological connectivity as a prerequisite for healthy river landscapes. The free event is part of Wissen zwischen Büchern and recommended for ages twelve and up.
