A Brazilian feature film from 1974 directed by Nelson Pereira dos Santos, starring Ney Santana, Anecy Rocha, Joffre Soares and Jards Macalé. The drama, with elements of mysticism and crime, follows a boy whose father and brother were murdered. At his mother's request he goes to an Umbanda temple to protect himself through the spirits, where he receives a protective amulet of Ogum, the warrior orixá who stands for protection and justice. The film presents new aesthetic and thematic approaches and reflects on marginalization, popular religiosity and urban violence in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro.
