Berlin-based pianist and composer Johannes von Ballestrem, whose work spans jazz, Brazilian music and classical performance, pays tribute in it to the innovators of modern jazz. From Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau to Kurt Rosenwinkel and younger pianists such as Aaron Parks, the program showcases the evolution of jazz piano over the last 30 years.
