"Orlando Pantera" is a film about the Cape Verdean musician and composer Orlando Pantera, who tragically died in 2001 at the age of 33. It was directed by Catarina Alves Costa. Using archival material shot in 2000, the film follows his daughter's encounters with meaningful places, people and memories, capturing musical performances against Cape Verde's tropical and rugged landscapes. Artists such as Mayra Andrade and Princezito interpret his work, which revived the Afro-rooted traditions of the island of Santiago.
