This special photography exhibition, "Ostgebiete / Ziemie Zachodnie", brings together ten German and Polish photographers, among them Karolina Gembara, Annette Hauschild and Wojtek Sienkiewicz. It is presented by the Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation Foundation (SFVV) in cooperation with the OSTKREUZ photographers' agency, marking the 35th anniversary of the German-Polish Treaty of Good Neighbourship. The works offer German and Polish views of a shared space of memory in Poland, the former eastern territories of the German Reich, which many Germans associate with flight, expulsion and the loss of home. Memory, identity and transformation are the themes, and Karolina Gembara is the artistic curator.
