The talk "Zu warm für die DDR? – Queeres Leben zwischen Anpassung und Emanzipation" traces the development of homosexuality, homophobia, emancipation and sexual culture across the four decades of the GDR. Peter Rausch from the Wolfdietrich-Schnurre-Bibliothek explores the everyday lives of lesbian, gay and queer people with their challenges, freedoms and forms of resistance. Historical insights and shared conversations open up varied perspectives on queer life between social constraints and growing visibility. No prior knowledge is required.
