SANKOFA – FÄDEN DER ERINNERUNG is an interdisciplinary performance and research project by Helen Schwochert and Brenda Akele Jorde and the first creation of their company Zwischen Seilen und Sein. The contemporary circus piece deals with cultures of remembrance and colonial continuities between Germany and Ghana. At its centre stands a transformable multisilks prop that serves as a stage set and a metaphor for a plural culture of remembrance. Two short films open the evening, followed by an exchange with the audience, artists, filmmakers and a representative of berlin decolonial tours.
