»Soft Squishy Things« is a low-fi sci-fi odyssey in object theatre. A trans woman astronaut is stranded in space and starts creating things there: a tissue becomes an alien pet, a humidifier becomes her personal hype crew, while cotton balls drift through galaxies that look suspiciously like mom's ironing board. The piece is performed and co-created by Robin Leveroos, directed by Eric Rose, and produced by Macromatter, Berlin and Ghost River Theatre, Calgary. Between object theatre magic and cosmic daydream, the piece without spoken language is funny, unusual and unexpectedly moving – a playful journey through loneliness, identity and the strange, beautiful ways we create closeness.
