On this public Sunday tour at the Botanical Garden in Berlin, you walk through the outdoor grounds and the greenhouses. The focus is the Mediterranean House: the building, decorated with Art Nouveau elements and reminiscent of a cathedral with its two glass turrets, is being renovated, so there is still some time to visit the plants of the Mediterranean laurel and hard-leaf forests and macchias. At the back of the house, you can learn fascinating facts about the tree ferns, the so-called dinosaurs among plants. The speaker is Detlev Dahlmann on behalf of the Botanical Garden; the tour lasts 90 minutes, is limited to 20 participants, and registration is required.
