"Über Wasser… aus dem Meer" is a talk and science programme at the Humboldt Labor about marine worlds, care and threatened ecosystems. As part of Berlin Science Week, the Humboldt Lab turns to organisms such as corals, jellyfish and seaweed, which count among the most threatened systems on Earth. Researchers and artists from different disciplines, including the artist Elena Alonso Fernández, the designer Rasa Weber and the marine biologist Laura Lehnhoff, explore what marine worlds tell us about the history of the Earth, the climate crisis and the relationship between humans and the more-than-human world. At its centre is the question of how art and science can develop new forms of attention, knowledge and responsibility for the oceans.
