James M. Harland, a research assistant in Ancient History at the University of Bonn, gives a talk in English on the so-called Anglo-Saxon migration. He examines new ancient DNA studies in relation to the debate about the end of Roman Britain and migration across the North Sea, asking how far these findings actually challenge earlier debates in archaeology and historiography.
