A talk followed by a discussion about the costs of the Western way of life, which are often borne by people in the Global South and by indigenous communities. It is about their filmic forms that make the consequences of exploitation, emissions and pollution visible, as well as struggles against social injustice and the urgency of global solidarity and a determined ecological turn. Behind the talk is film scholar Matthias Grotkopp, who researches at the Collaborative Research Centre „Intervenierende Künste“ at Freie Universität Berlin. The event is part of the „Wissen zwischen Büchern“ series.
