This event is an evening of the public talk series "Warum Kunst?" at the Berlin University of the Arts, asking what art achieves and where its future lies. Speaking are Wolfram Lotz, a dramatist, poet and radio playwright, and Prof. Iris ter Schiphorst, a composer, musician and author, with the evening moderated by Prof. Marion Hirte. At its center is the question of the value of artistic practice in a time of multiple crises and of art's capacity to open new spaces of thought, experience and imagination. The series sees itself as an open forum for exchange between artists, scholars, students and the public and is held in German.
