“Wir holen uns die Nacht zurück” is a theatre piece by the ensemble of Theater Strahl in Berlin-Lichtenberg, for ages 14 and up, running 90 minutes. Based on the young-adult novel of the same name by Nora Hoch, it tells of Kaja and IIvy, two girls like sisters, who grow up in the same house and discover first love, parties and drugs. When Kaja slips deeper and deeper into drug addiction and IIvy's rescue attempts fail, IIvy sets out with her friend Kaan to find her, uncovering a life she knew nothing about. The piece about drug addiction, co-dependency and loyalty in friendship was awarded the IKARUS theatre prize by both the expert jury and the youth jury in the youth theatre category.
