“Wir holen uns die Nacht zurück” is a piece of contemporary drama for ages 14 and up, based on the young adult novel of the same name by Nora Hoch. It premiered at Theater Strahl Berlin, directed by Masha Sapizhak, and was awarded the IKARUS theatre prize by both the professional jury and the youth jury. It tells of Kaja and Ilvy, two girls like sisters, who discover first love and parties – and drugs. When Kaja disappears from a party drugged out of her mind, Ilvy sets out with her friend Kaan to find her, uncovering a life she knew nothing about; the piece is a wild, anarchic road movie about drug addiction, codependency and loyalty in a friendship.
