A Christmas Carol in Words and Music is a stage performance of Dickens' famous 'ghostly little story', in which the tale is woven with haunting live music. Anton Lesser, known for Wolf Hall, Endeavour, Harry Potter and Andor, performs Dickens' teeming cast of characters, accompanied by on-stage musicians of Orchestra of the Swan with David Le Page. Directed by Judy Reaves and produced by Hambletts, it comes from the creative team behind Red Sky at Sunrise: Laurie Lee in Words and Music and A Beautiful Thread: Thomas Hardy in Words and Music. Running two hours including an interval, it is a fitting start to the season's celebrations.
