A public meeting on AUKUS, the military agreement between the US, Britain and Australia that gives Australia nuclear powered submarines and drives nuclear proliferation. It is hosted by CND (the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament), with guest speaker Warren Smith, deputy national secretary of the Australian Maritime Union, plus Sophie Bolt of CND and Alex Gordon of the RMT. Speakers discuss the growing opposition to AUKUS in Australia, the costs to public services, and how trade unions can build solidarity against war and nuclear dangers. The meeting takes place in Suite 5&6 of Hamilton House, the NEU's headquarters, on Mabledon Place.
