The BBC Singers, conducted by Krista Audere, perform Parry's Songs of Farewell, a moving cycle of six wartime laments written in response to the First World War and the composer's declining health. The first half pairs Caroline Shaw's Companion Planting with Palestrina's radiant early Missa Sicut lilium inter spinas, looking to renewal and the natural world.
