Bones in the Desert is a 60-minute immersive play for ages 13+ and young adults, with no seating as audiences stand and move among the actors. Written by British-Armenian playwright Joe Nerssessian and staged by Half Moon, the UK's leading small-scale young people's venue and touring company, it is supported by The Benlian Trust. It tells of Artur, a 19-year-old refugee in Berlin in 2022 haunted by memories of fleeing the Syrian civil war, whose reunion with someone from that journey unravels into a reckoning with identity, belonging and the cost of silence. Spanning the deserts of 1915 to today, it confronts war's long shadows, mental well-being and racism in contemporary Europe, followed by an onstage Q&A with the company.
