An evening book talk called The Modern Ghost Story at Backstory, a bookshop on Balham High Road. Authors Claire Fuller and Róisín Lanigan join Clare Chambers, author of Shy Creatures and Small Pleasures, to discuss their recent novels Hunger & Thirst and I Want To Go Home But I'm Already There. The two books share unsettling buildings, social issues and 'modern ghosts': one follows a woman haunted for decades by a dare carried out in a mysterious squat, the other tells a darkly funny ghost story set in the rental crisis. Tickets cost £15 alone, or more with a copy of either book to collect on the night.
