An online auction of collections including antique embroidery and vernacular furniture from the collection of Ian and Barbara Kennedy-Martin. The pieces were acquired over five decades through regular visits to trusted dealers including Andrew Jenkins, Mac Humble and Alistair Sampson, and sat alongside fine press books, Modern British and Irish art, antiquities and fine wines to form a richly layered, deeply personal home. Barbara was an avid embroiderer whose historic needlework, begun in the late 1970s, became the principal decoration of her private rooms, while Ian practised joinery and marquetry alongside his writing and painting, valuing carved and inlaid furniture for the skill and character of their makers.
