Counting and Cracking is a theatrical epic telling a Sri Lankan-Australian family story across four generations, two countries and nearly fifty years, from 1956 to 2004. It is a Belvoir St Theatre and Kurinji co-production, written by S. Shakthidharan and directed by Eamon Flack. On the banks of a suburban Sydney river, Radha and her son Siddhartha gather to release the ashes of Radha's mother, when a phone call from Colombo brings a remarkable family story vividly to life. Performed by 19 actors from six countries in English, Tamil and Sinhalese with live translation, the show has won 14 major awards and makes its London debut after a UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2022.
