A guided walk through the heart of literary London, ending with a visit to Dr Johnson's House, the home of its most famous resident writer, Samuel Johnson. It explores how, after Wynkyn de Worde established Caxton's print workshop in Fleet Street in 1500, the area became the bustling centre of print and publishing, and how by the 1700s its coffeehouses and taverns were the haunt of writers, booksellers and journalists. The walk starts and finishes at Dr Johnson's House, 17 Gough Square.
