Family Takeover with Tom James is a series of family workshops at Camden Art Centre where children aged 4+ and accompanying adults make art together. Artist Tom James, whose practice explores the function and future of everyday objects and often re-uses things that may otherwise go to waste, leads participants in building a large-scale sculptural marble run in the Drawing Studio. Using reclaimed tubes, pipes, bottles and funnels, each collaborative marble run is designed, tested and built before being disassembled, echoing the playful work of Yves Tinguely and Fischli/Weiss. Activities may be messy, and spaces are limited.
