Fire Festival is a 1985 Japanese film directed by Mitsuo Yanagimachi, about a lumberjack in a rural seaside village who resists tourism development while his community is transformed by economic pressures. It will be introduced by strand curator George Crosthwait, in association with Third Window Films, which releases the film on Blu-ray in December. The film was shown in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1985 Cannes Film Festival and stars Kinya Kitaoji, Kiwako Taichi, Norihei Miki and Junko Miyashita.
