Flotsam is a new opera for young children aged 2-6, based on the much-loved picture book by David Wiesner. It is an OperaUpClose production with a new score and text by Kerry Andrew, blending music, movement and storytelling. A curious child finds a mysterious camera washed up on the beach, and the photos inside reveal a chain of children linked across time and space and an extraordinary underwater world, where turtles carry cities, starfish dance and octopuses read by lamplight.
